JustMarkets MT4: who it is for

When MetaTrader 4 is still the right choice, and what to confirm before installing it.

Min deposit from $10  ·  up to 1:3000

MetaTrader 4 remains available at JustMarkets alongside MT5, the broker's own app and WebTrader. It suits traders with an existing MT4 setup worth keeping; for someone starting from nothing there is little reason to choose it deliberately. The account is created for the platform, so the choice is made before the first deposit. ringgitfxdesk.com is an independent review site and is not operated by JustMarkets. The button on this page opens an account with FxPro, a different broker.

MT4 at a glance

What it is and who it is for

MT4 is the older terminal and still the one most third-party tools are written for. If you already run expert advisors or indicators built for MT4, that is the case for staying on it.

If you have no such setup, choose by the instruments you intend to trade and confirm they are available on the platform you pick before opening the account.

How it works, step by step

Create the trading account in the client area and note the numeric account number, its password and the server name shown next to it. Install the terminal, then connect using that number — not the email used for the client area.

Fund the account from the client area. The terminal displays the balance but does not move money in either direction.

Costs, limits and what to check first

Entry threshold is from $10 on Standard and Standard Cent; Pro and Raw Spread start higher. Leverage is advertised up to 1:3000. Trading costs differ by account type, and the broker states them in its own terms.

Check one thing before committing: that the instrument you intend to trade is actually reachable on MT4 at this broker. Coverage differs between platforms and is decided by the provider, not by the terminal.

Frequently asked questions

Is MT4 still worth choosing?
It is if you already have an MT4 setup — expert advisors or indicators — worth carrying over. Starting from scratch, MT5 is the more natural default.
Is MetaTrader 4 free?
The terminal itself is free to download; you fund the trading account, from $10 on Standard and Standard Cent.
Can I move my MT4 account to MT5 later?
Check with the broker. MT4 and MT5 run on separate server systems, so in practice a new trading account is opened for the other platform.
